How to make a plan for your Google Account if you pass away or stop using Google

Now a days its hard to find a person who do not have a google account. The services provide by Google is just unmatachable such that even an apple user uses Google products in his phone.

Most of the persons have one or more google accounts. Every android phones requires its user to have a Google account to get all the services of Android. Some persons uses one account has primary & other account for different individual uses such as Youtube etc. 

After certain time most of this accounts become inactive mostly because of inactive users. This inactive situations occur if you're unexpectedly unable to use your account in case such as accident or death.

Such Cases should be taken serious because most of users account contains important contacts, personal documents, other digital copies and once unexpected situations like accidents or death of  user occurs there is no way one can login to such accounts unless user has shared his login credentials to somebody. Its difficult to hack into such accounts since these accounts are provided with different layers of protection. 

In order to avoid such situations Google as introduced an Account Inactivity Manager In google account settings which you can access through your android phone.

Googles account inactivity manager helps the user to create a plan In case of inactivity for a definite period like you can give access to trusted person or to delete the account itself. Google checks for inactivity using different parameters like user logins, uses of its different services.

Here at The Clarifist we will guide you step by step on how to properly set up a Account Inactivity plan that best suits you on via an android phone.


1. First go to settings and find 'Accounts' as shown in the screen shot.

2. Now select the Google Account  for which you want to create the Account inactivity management plan.
3.  Now click Google Account - Info, Security & Personalisation as shown below
 
4. Now click Data & Personalisation tab
5. Scroll all the way to the section Download, delete or make a Plan for your data and click Make a plan for your account 

5. Go through the page for written information and click Start 

6. First part of the plan is divided into 3 parts.
In the first part you should choose the period of inactivity. After the given period of inactivity Google will trigger the plan. To edit the period of inactivity click the pencil button on the rightside of the option. Option available for inactivity period are 3 months, 6 months, 12months, 18months.
Second part is where you have to give your phone number. By default it will be the number you added in your Google account. It can be edited if required.
The third part shows the email id for which you are creating the plan.
The fourth part shows the email id which you had given as recover email id. This is non editable and can be other google id.
After that click Next 

7. From the next screen click ADD PERSON as shown 

8. Type the Email address of your trusted person to notify incase of account inactivity and press NEXT as shown 

9. Now you will be presented with a sub menu in which you have to select data of which all services that is to be shared with trusted person as shown in the below screenshots. You can select all thr services by clicking SELECT ALL or select nothingby clicking SELECT NONE. You can also select random services from the list by checking each Tick Boxes on the left of each services. A pro tip here is you only need to select the services you uses. You can always edit the list at a later stage. After the selecting the list. Click NEXT. The email of trusted person will be shown in the next page. So at any time if you want to edit the list of items you want to share, you can click on the ✏️ pencil button right to the email id.

10. In the next screen you have to give the phone number of the trusted person. Also select the country before you give the phone number. Below that u can also set a personalised message for trusted contact. After giving details press save.

11. In the next screen you can see the email id of the trusted contact along with a ✏️ and a delete button. You can add upto 10 persons like this by repeating steps 7 to 10. Also there is a Auto reply feature for emailing to the trusted contact. You can enable it by clicking  SET AUTOREPLY. After that click NEXT.

12. In the next screen you have decide if your inactive Google Account should ve deleted after period of inactivity. If you want delete the account you can click the radio button shown in the below screenshot otherwise you can leave as it is.

Now you have successfully completed a plan. With all this steps you can finally setup a plan if your google account becomes inactive for a certain period. If you want to review your plan you can just click REVIEW PLAN button as shown above and you will be asked to confirm the plan.Once you confirmed Google will be checking for inactivity and once the period of inactivity is equal to the period mentioned in the plan, the steps in the plan will be carried out.

This plan can be changed or edited anytime you want by following above steps.
